Hi to both of you. what both of you are doing for the community in Coffee Bay should be rewarded. I am working in the UK at the moment and would like to know how forreign supporters can donate?

Hi Ulrika, Thank you for your positive comments. We are still waiting for our NPO number, so we do not have an official bank account yet. We have been using Belinda’s accounts (South Africa & England) for friends/associates who have donated. Shout if you need any further details. Enkosi sis, Dawn

It is premature to ask for donations before you are registered as an NPO – it is also illegal to get donations prior to obtaining your NPO number

    Your comments?

I was the manager of Coffee Shack Backpackers for 5 years and thousands of visitors gave us ‘informal’ donations for our various projects over the years, that is how the projects sustained themselves. If you come and visit Coffee Shack and Coffee Bay, you will understand why visitors do this and you would probably get involved in one of the projects and leave a donation yourself! We are not asking anyone for anything actually – we are creating awareness of what we are doing. I am not aware that it is illegal to give money to a good cause, if a person wants to! Thank you, Dawn

Nonsense. It is not illegal. Check your facts. They do not even have to register.
Anyway, why so concerned about their donations.
They are obviously doing good work. Get a life.

    Hi Dawn
I am Anick’s Mum and have been to beautiful Coffee Bay last year. I tried to donate some money to the Montessori project today. Unfortunately without any success. The First National Bank Branch Code 210221 does not seem to exist. All the Branches appearing on my screen are either in Joh’burg or Sandton. What to do? I’d love to support you.

As of yesterday we can now receive Paypal payments in South Africa.

    Register at http://www.paypal.co.za

Other good news is that we finally have (beautiful) accommodation for the school Volunteer project (right on Shelley beach, Hole in the Wall); so will finally be kicking off in the next school term.

    Woop woop!

        Hi Louise
Due to us not having our NPO number yet, we do not yet have a paypal account yet. Will be headlines on blog when we do receive it.

Hi Dawn, I’m a friend of Anick’s and she told me about your project. I’d love to support you, how can I donate?
